Blueberries are often used in traditional ceremonies and are believed to have healing properties. Sumac holds great importance to Native Americans as it has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties.

Strawberries and sweetgrass hold deep cultural significance to the Mohawk people, representing love, unity, spirituality, and the interconnectedness of all beings.
Kanata Dry
The Mohawk people have a deep respect for nature and the creatures that inhabit it, including bees. The Mohawk word for “bee” (katsikhe\’tón;nis) Meaning “ It makes sugar” Emphasizing their role in producing honey, which is a scourge of sweetness and sustenance also recognizing their importance in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

The maple tree is the first of the trees to come alive in the spring. Bringing forth sustenance and medicine after winter. The mohawk soda company chose to use the orange shirt. To help bring awareness to the every child matters movement.

Flavours are said to be one of the triggers for memories. This is our version of root beer. I have fond memories of having root beer float with my father as a child as an adult all we shared that same Love for coffee. I am excited to collaborate with Max and Joe and indigenous copy roaster to add a unique note to our signature root beer.
